OUR MISSION
The mission of the Youth Initiative for Climate Action-Sierra Leone (YICA-SL) is to empower and mobilize young people in Sierra Leone to become effective advocates, leaders, and changemakers in the fight against climate change and its impacts. We aim to:
- Raise Awareness: Educate the youth about climate change and its local implications to foster a deeper understanding of environmental issues.
- Build Capacity: Equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed for climate action and sustainable development.
- Promote Community Engagement: Foster partnerships and community involvement in environmental conservation efforts.
- Advocate for Policy Changes: Push for policies that prioritize climate resilience and sustainable practices.
- Showcase Youth-led Initiatives: Highlight and support projects led by young people that focus on climate adaptation, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability.
Together, we strive to create a sustainable and resilient future for Sierra Leone by engaging and empowering the next generation of environmental leaders.
